Shell Ridge Open Space Slideshow

These images are from a recent hike at Shell Ridge Open Space in Walnut Creek.  This is a well travelled location, and you'll probably see a lot of hiking clubs, trail runners, dog walkers and bikers.  There is a small parking area at the end of Sutherland Drive.  There were no maps at the trail head, but you can print one off here.  

Trails Featured:  Fossil Hill Trail,  Briones Mt. Diablo Trail,  and  Ridge Top Trail.

Old San Pablo Trail - Highlight Reel Part 1

Old San Pablo Trail is part of the East Bay Mud North Watershed (map here), and is a beautiful, mostly canopied trail.   You'll need a permit for this trail, which you can get here.   This is an "out and back" route, perfect for a run or peaceful hike.

Purisima Creek Highlight Reel

This is a road trip hike.  The Purisima Creek Trail is on the western slopes of the Santa Cruz Mountains, in Halfmoon Bay.  This Highlight Reel captures the Purisima Creek Trail portion of my hike, which continued on to the Craig Britton Trail and the Harkins Ridge Trail.
